PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia, operating as InJourney Airports, said Husein Sastranegara Airport in Bandung is ready to resume serving medium-size jet aircraft from August 14, 2026. The inaugural jet service will operate on the Denpasar-Bandung and Bandung-Denpasar routes, officials said.
InJourney Airports Chief Executive Muhammad Rizal Pahlevi said Garuda Indonesia will operate the flights. He said the airport has received approval from Indonesia's Ministry of Transportation after meeting all operational readiness requirements. "The optimization of flight operations at Husein Sastranegara Airport will welcome travellers with the best facilities and services, combined with modern features blended with West Java culture," Rizal said during an announcement in Bandung on Friday.
Bandung Mayor Muhammad Farhan welcomed the resumption of scheduled flights from the airport through the opening of the Garuda Indonesia route. Officials said the airport's reactivation represents an important moment for the city and should be accompanied by improvements to the city environment and appearance, particularly along routes serving as main access to the city centre.
Farhan expressed hope that the routes would mark the beginning of increased flight connectivity from Bandung to various regions in Indonesia and abroad. Officials said the mayor is anticipating additional regular flight schedules from various airlines for both domestic and international routes.
