PT PLN (Persero) has completed the restoration of 11 main power stations damaged by the magnitude 7 earthquake that struck Flores, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), on Saturday morning (15/8). All stations have returned to full operational capacity within less than 12 hours after the earthquake occurred, the company said.

PLN President Director Darmawan Prasodjo said the restoration of all stations was a crucial step to normalise the main supply system and accelerate electricity distribution to various regions in Flores. Darmawan added that the supply capacity from generation has reached 111 megawatts, exceeding current load demand of approximately 95 megawatts and normal conditions of approximately 105 megawatts.

PLN's recovery focus has now shifted to the distribution network, with one feeder still experiencing disruptions due to the earthquake and landslides. Several electricity poles were reported to have collapsed and broken, requiring repair and replacement. Darmawan said all PLN personnel and resources have been fully mobilised to repair the damaged infrastructure.

General Manager of PLN East Nusa Tenggara Regional Head Unit F. Eko Sulistyono revealed that Nagekeo and Reo regencies have suffered the heaviest impact, and PLN is paying special attention to both areas with detailed mapping of damage points. Eko said additional support from other regions will be mobilised if needed to speed up recovery.

PLN is prioritising electricity supply to public and vital facilities, including hospitals, airports, government offices, and evacuation centres. Eko stressed that the entire recovery process will be directly overseen until all customers receive supply again, emphasising that personnel safety remains a priority amid ongoing aftershocks. PLN is coordinating closely with the Regional Government, disaster management agencies, the military, and police in the recovery process.
