We fix our mistakes, and we say so.
The principle
Errors happen in every newsroom. What separates them is what happens next. When we get something wrong we fix it and say so openly, rather than editing it away quietly.
How to report an error
Email info@samanews.id and include:
- a link to the story
- what is wrong in it
- the correct source or reference, if you have one
What we do
A factual error that changes what a reader would understand is corrected, and a dated correction note is added to the story.
A spelling or grammar fix that does not change the meaning is made without a note.
If a story turns out not to stand up, it is withdrawn and the reason is explained in its place.
