The Traffic Police Directorate of Gorontalo Police considers the programme to forgive principal and penalty arrears on Motor Vehicle Tax (PKB) highly effective in helping to update vehicle data in the region. The programme, scheduled for 10 to 31 August 2026, is expected to improve administrative order while optimising regional revenue.
Lukman Cahyono, Senior Commissioner of Police and head of the Traffic Police Directorate of Gorontalo Police, stated that this policy encourages the public to promptly carry out vehicle registration and identification approval. This measure directly supports the police's task of updating the motor vehicle database in Gorontalo Province.
Under this programme, taxpayers with arrears from previous years receive total forgiveness of both the principal amount and penalties. Members of the public are only required to pay the vehicle tax for the current year, thus providing significant financial relief.
Lukman explained that having accurate data is crucial for providing legal certainty regarding the validation of the origin, fitness and legality of vehicle ownership. He highlighted that valid data is an important instrument for the police in carrying out surveillance functions and improving the quality of public services.
Lukman invited all members of the public to take advantage of this opportunity by visiting the nearest Samsat office (Unified Administrative System One Roof) during the programme period.
