Wuling Motors has built a strong foundation in the national automotive industry through its manufacturing plant in Cikarang, West Java, which began operations in 2017. As the only Chinese automotive brand with complete manufacturing facilities in Indonesia, the company reaffirms its commitment to making the country its production base.
Over the past nine years, Wuling's portfolio has expanded from two conventional vehicle models to ten product lines covering various market segments. A significant transformation occurred in 2022 when Wuling launched the Air EV, its first electric car in Indonesia, opening access to electric vehicles at more affordable prices for consumers.
Despite facing a decline in the national automotive market in recent years, Wuling has maintained its position as the only Chinese brand consistently ranking among the ten bestselling car brands in Indonesia. Until mid-2026, cumulative production from the Cikarang plant reached 200,000 units for the domestic market and exports, with more than 180,000 customers in Indonesia.
As it enters its ninth year of operations, Wuling is strengthening its focus on new energy vehicles through the arrival of Aira EV, which will be officially launched at the GAIKINDO Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2026. This step demonstrates the company's development direction, increasingly focusing on electrification, continuing the foundation built since the launch of Air EV.
