DHL Group is strengthening support for Indonesian youth employment readiness through the GoTeach and UPGRADE programmes by providing mentorship, skills development, and career insights. Ahmad Mohamad, Senior Technical Advisor of DHL Express Indonesia, stated that DHL Group is committed to enhancing employment readiness among Indonesian youth through both programmes.
At the Youth Speak Forum in Jakarta, young participants from SOS Children's Villages Jakarta and Lembang interacted directly with professionals from various industries to broaden their understanding of future careers and the skills needed in today's job market. These participants are beneficiaries of DHL's GoTeach programme, according to Ahmad Mohamad.
With technological advancement, automation, and digital transformation, workplace skills requirements are changing rapidly. Globally, employers estimate that 39 per cent of core skills needed by the workforce will change by 2030. GoTeach, one of DHL Group's flagship corporate social responsibility programmes, helps young people improve their employment readiness through mentorship, career guidance, skills development, and direct exposure to the work environment.
Running globally since 2010, the programme has been present in Indonesia since 2014 through a partnership with SOS Children's Villages Indonesia. Since its launch in Indonesia, GoTeach has reached more than 2,000 young people through at least 55 activities focused on developing job skills and career readiness. In 2025, more than 230 Indonesian youth aged 15 to 24 at nine locations, including Jakarta and Lembang, are participating in various GoTeach activities.
More than 40 volunteers from DHL Express, DHL Global Forwarding, and DHL Supply Chain have contributed more than 2,000 hours of volunteering through mentoring activities, training, facilitation, and career readiness development. Dean Ivancevic, UPGRADE Programme Manager at DHL Group, added that the forum provides an opportunity for young people to learn, build connections, and broaden their horizons, by linking high-potential young professionals with various opportunities in the company's global network.
