Tangerang Police have arrested five suspects in a case of assault and alleged sexual abuse against a mobile bank employee with initials PG (25) in Panongan District, Tangerang Regency, Banten. The five suspects were arrested in Pemalang Regency, Central Java, on Friday (7/8), according to Banten Police Public Relations Head Kombes Pol Maruli Ahiles Hutapea.

The suspects consist of the mobile bank boss with initials EDD (24) and four of his employees named with initials SD (21), ML (22), AD (31), and DD (21). According to Maruli, the boss is the mastermind of the assault while the other four are the perpetrators.

The case stemmed from the boss's suspicion towards the victim who had submitted a resignation and intended to return to his hometown. The boss and his colleagues suspected the victim would start a similar business and take over the customers he was handling. The victim suffered physical violence and alleged indecent conduct for several hours, with the suspects allegedly under the influence of alcoholic drinks when committing the violence.

The suspects face charges under Article 262 of the Criminal Code concerning Violence Against Persons and Article 446 of the Criminal Code concerning Deprivation of Person's Liberty, as well as articles concerning indecent conduct. They face potential sentences of 8 years and 7 years imprisonment, according to Maruli.

The incident occurred on Tuesday (28/7) evening until Wednesday (29/7) early morning. A video recording of the incident subsequently went viral on social media, showing the victim with a bruised face and allegedly forced to perform masturbation.
