Fendy, the victim of a beating by a Bekasi Regency Legislative Council member with initials NY and two others, rejected a restorative justice (RJ) attempt at a hearing held at Cikarang State Court on Wednesday (12/8). Fendy stated he still wants the beating case to be processed through the legal system.

Fendy said the attempt at an out-of-court settlement came too late, as from the beginning he hoped that the alleged perpetrators would come directly and apologize. He also denied there was an attempt to reach out from the beginning, claiming instead that he was visited by several unfamiliar people, which made him feel afraid.

Fendy's legal counsel, Dani Bahdani, affirmed that his side requested the legal process continue based on facts revealed in court proceedings. According to Dani, Fendy did not want to pursue RJ because he was traumatised after being treated inhumanely and beaten by more than eight people.

Dani also stressed that his side did not want the case framed as a simple matter, stating that the legal process must uncover the full facts regarding the alleged beating. Previously, at the first hearing, the Public Prosecutor charged N—a Bekasi Regency Legislative Council member—along with two others with committing joint violence that caused the victim to sustain injuries on 30 October 2025 at a restaurant in South Cikarang.
