KPEI records 48% surge in exchange transaction settlement

PT Kliring Penjaminan Efek Indonesia logged an average daily exchange transaction settlement value of Rp6.65 trillion in January-July 2026, up 48 per cent from the 2025 average of Rp4.5 trillion.

PT Kliring Penjaminan Efek Indonesia (KPEI) recorded an average daily exchange transaction settlement value of Rp6.65 trillion in January-July 2026, up 48 per cent from the 2025 average of Rp4.5 trillion.

KPEI Chief Executive Officer Antonius Herman Azwar said the increase in transaction activity must be matched with settlement efficiency, risk management strengthening, and improved collateral management. In line with the rise in transaction value, the average efficiency of daily exchange transaction settlement value increased to 65.43 per cent from 61.81 per cent in 2025.

KPEI introduced a transaction settlement mechanism at the Clearing Member level from 15 June 2026. Since its implementation, the mechanism has recorded an average settlement instruction efficiency of 96 per cent and an improvement in settlement time efficiency of 86 per cent.

The total value of KPEI securities lending and borrowing in January-July 2026 reached Rp109.24 billion, up approximately 269 per cent compared to the same period in 2025. Securities lending and borrowing volume reached 31.18 million shares, growing around 171 per cent compared to 11.01 million shares in 2025.

KPEI also expanded its role in the money market and foreign exchange market after officially performing the Central Counterparty function for the Money Market and Foreign Exchange Market from 30 September 2024. The notional value of Domestic Non-Deliverable Forward transactions through the service in January-July 2026 reached 5.21 billion US dollars, or around Rp90.5 trillion, up approximately 310 per cent compared to the same period in the previous year, which recorded 1.27 billion US dollars.
