An Amazon cargo plane overran a runway at Miami International Airport on Sunday afternoon after arriving from San Juan, Puerto Rico, striking multiple vehicles and catching fire, according to the Federal Aviation Administration. The incident forced the closure of all runways at one of the United States' busiest airports.
The Boeing 767 operated by Amazon Prime Air struck two parked semi-trucks near a road after leaving the runway. Social media images showed the aircraft lying on its underside beside the vehicles, engulfed in flames and sending plumes of smoke into the sky. The plane remained largely intact despite the fire.
The FAA and Miami International Airport said there was no immediate word on casualties from the crash.
