Ben Donaldson has been selected to start at flyhalf for the Wallabies against Argentina in Mendoza on Saturday, giving the player a chance to press his claim for the position after two years without a start. The selection comes as Australia continues its search for a settled World Cup flyhalf.

Carter Gordon, who is fit to play after recovering from a facial injury sustained in last week's win in Jujuy, has been relegated to the bench. Coach Les Kiss did not elaborate on the decision to drop Gordon despite his availability.

Donaldson will play outside Ryan Lonergan, who has become the established scrumhalf, as Kiss continues to evaluate options at No. 10.
