Jak Jones claimed the second ranking title of his career by beating four-time world champion Mark Selby 10-6 in the British Open final. Jones reached the final after defeating Judd Trump in the semi-final.
The match was tied at 4-4 after the afternoon session, which included a 139 break from Selby. Another century break brought Selby level at 5-5, but Jones moved into a two-frame lead at 7-5. Breaks of 53 and 62 put Jones one frame from victory, and after Selby missed a green on the colours, Jones secured the win.
Jones won his first ranking title at the 2026 Championship League in July. He turned professional at 16 in 2010 and briefly dropped off the World Snooker Tour twice before becoming a mainstay since 2016. He reached the 2024 World Championship final but was beaten by Kyren Wilson.
