A tester evaluated 11 eco-friendly laundry detergents in various formats, including capsules, sheets and liquids, to determine which products effectively clean clothes while minimizing environmental harm. The assessment examined whether sustainable detergents could deliver results comparable to conventional products.

The motivation for the testing stemmed from concerns about both personal safety and environmental impact. The tester previously experienced a full-body rash from budget laundry detergent and subsequently switched to a major brand without recurring reactions, but remained concerned about whether conventional product ingredients could cause environmental damage after being washed down drains.

The evaluation considered sustainable cleaning options that operate through subscription services, aimed at making environmental responsibility more convenient for consumers while maintaining cleaning performance.
