Scottie Scheffler will carry a two-shot lead into the final round of the FedEx St Jude Championship at TPC Southwind in Memphis. The world No. 1 shot a two-under 68 on Saturday to reach 13 under overall, trimming his three-stroke halfway advantage after he bogeyed his penultimate hole.
Sam Burns carded a bogey-free eight-under 62 to move to 11 under and into second place. Sungjae Im, also at 11 under, sits in third after a three-under 67. Tommy Fleetwood, the defending FedExCup Playoffs champion, remains five shots back on eight under after a two-under round.
Rory McIlroy continued to struggle, shooting a two-over 72 to sit 19 shots behind Scheffler. The world No. 2 has yet to post an under-par round this week. McIlroy finished with a double bogey at the 18th after finding the water off the tee.
Scheffler is seeking his first win since The American Express in January. The 30-year-old has recorded five runners-up finishes, including at the 3M Open in his previous event, and nine top-fives overall in the intervening months.
The tournament is the first of three FedExCup Playoffs events. Winners of the first two events earn 750 points each before the points reset ahead of the Tour Championship, where the winner becomes the FedExCup champion for 2026 and earns $10 million and a five-year PGA Tour exemption.
