Season four of the action series Reacher, starring Alan Ritchson in the lead role, features two Indonesian singers, Agnez Mo and Anggun C. Sasmi, among the cast. The series is adapted from Lee Child's bestselling novel series, with season four's story sourced from Gone Tomorrow, the 13th novel in the Reacher series published in 2009.
This season explores a plot filled with high-level political conspiracy that begins with a tragic incident in the subway. The story starts when former military investigator Jack Reacher encounters a woman exhibiting suspicious behaviour. Reacher attempts to defuse the situation after noticing indicators similar to a suicide bomber, but the woman shoots herself in front of Reacher, triggering deep guilt in him.
Driven by curiosity and remorse, Reacher refuses to believe the incident is merely a routine suicide and decides to investigate a digital drive left behind by the victim. The investigation gradually pulls Reacher into a dangerous conspiracy involving records of past conflicts and extremist groups, plunging him into a shadow war involving government secret agents and high-ranking officials.
In the course of the investigation, Reacher meets Lila Hoth (Agnez Mo), a young woman from Indonesia who comes to Philadelphia with her mother, Amisha Hoth (Anggun C. Sasmi). Lila is searching for her biological father, who is a United States citizen, but together with Amisha she plays a key role in the massive conspiracy that is the main focus of this season.
Besides Agnez Mo and Anggun C. Sasmi, a number of new cast members also join season four, including Jay Baruchel as police officer Jacob Merrick, Sydelle Noel as Detective Tamara Green of the Philadelphia Police Department, and Kevin Corrigan as Detective Docherty. Nick Santora returns as showrunner, with the series produced by Amazon MGM Studios, Skydance Television, and CBS Studios. Reacher Season 4 premieres on August 12 on Prime Video.
