HBO Max is offering a free seven-day trial through Prime Video. Prime account holders can sign in and add an HBO Max account at no charge during the promotional period.
Once the trial ends, the ad-supported HBO Max subscription will resume at its regular price of $10.99 per month. HBO Max does not offer a free trial on its own site, making the Prime Video deal one of the only ways to access the service without payment.
The promotion comes as the streamer pursues new customers despite raising prices in the fall. Amazon has removed similar offers from its Prime streaming hub in the past without warning.
HBO Max is also available free through DirecTV's MyEntertainment Genre Pack, which costs $42.99 per month and includes 60-plus live TV channels plus HBO Max, Disney+ and Hulu.
