A lunar eclipse was visible across Spain on the morning of August 28. The partial phase began at 04:34 and concluded around 07:52, with the eclipse reaching its maximum at 06:12 when approximately 93 percent of the lunar disk was obscured by Earth's shadow.
The eclipse left the moon with reddish tones and was largely covered by Earth's shadow. Western peninsular Spain, the Canary Islands, and Ceuta offered the best viewing conditions, as the moon remained visible for longer before sunrise in those areas.
The penumbral phase began at 03:23, though it was barely perceptible to observers. The partial phase, during which Earth's shadow began to cover the moon's edge, started at 04:34 and continued until approximately 07:52 as the moon neared the horizon in different parts of Spain.
