The Foo Fighters took the stage at the Hollywood Bowl on Saturday for their first concert at the storied venue, performing with accompaniment from the Los Angeles Philharmonic. Conductor Gustavo Dudamel led the full orchestra during the appearance, which coincided with his farewell weekend as music and artistic director of the L.A. Phil before beginning his tenure with the New York Philharmonic next month.
Dave Grohl told the audience during the 15-song set that the band had selected material that could be performed with the orchestra and Dudamel. "We usually play for three hours a night, but tonight, we picked the best songs that we can perform with our friends in the L.A. Phil and Mr. Gustavo Dudamel," Grohl said.
The setlist included the band's established hits "Times Like These," "All My Life," "The Pretender," "My Hero" and "Best of You," along with deeper cuts. Songs performed included "Razor," which the band had not played live since 2006, and "Home," which they last performed in 2007.
Grohl dedicated a rendition of "Aurora" to late drummer Taylor Hawkins, who died in 2022 at age 50. The concert concluded with "Everlong," which featured a fireworks display. The Foo Fighters are currently touring in support of their recent album Your Favorite Toy.
