Miley Cyrus unveiled the first single from her forthcoming album Bass Persuades on Wednesday, releasing "Bass Persuades" along with a video directed by Mert Alas. The track blends pop and post-punk influences and features a video heavily inspired by leather culture.

The album follows Cyrus's 2025 release Something Beautiful and includes contributions from New York art punks Model/Actriz. In a statement shared to Instagram about the title track, Cyrus said music is "powerful, vulnerable, sweet and strong" and encompasses "every part of life in between."

Bass Persuades is scheduled for release on September 18. Cyrus will mark the album's arrival with two performances at Los Angeles' Hollywood Bowl on October 16 and October 17. Since releasing Something Beautiful, she has put out a deluxe edition of the album and appeared in a Hannah Montana 20th-anniversary special.
