The North Jakarta and Thousand Islands Fire and Rescue Sub-Department estimated losses from a fire at a convection factory on Rorotan 3 Street, Rorotan Village, Cilincing District, at Rp550 million. The head of the Operations Section, Gatot Sulaeman, said the burnt building was a convection factory measuring 240 square metres.

The fire is suspected to have been triggered by an electrical short circuit, starting around 13.40 WIB when a worker saw electrical cables on a machine catch fire. The fire spread to kapok material and grew larger, and although workers attempted to extinguish it, their efforts were unsuccessful.

The Jakarta Fire and Disaster Management Agency deployed 65 personnel and 13 fire engines to handle the fire. Officers received reports from residents around 13.50 WIB and began extinguishing the fire at 13.57 WIB. The fire was localised around 14.25 WIB and declared extinguished around 15.09 WIB.

Four heads of households comprising 16 people were successfully rescued from the fire. There were no casualties in the incident.
