Chantelle Cameron said she expects to deliver a career-best performance when she defends her WBO super welterweight title against Mikaela Mayer in a unification bout in Birmingham on Saturday, August 29. The British champion, who holds a record of 22-1 with 8 knockouts, will face American Mayer, who has a record of 22-2 with 5 knockouts, at the bp pulse LIVE arena.

Mayer holds the WBC and WBA super welterweight titles. The bout will headline MVPW-06, an event featuring British and American fighters across the card and broadcast live on Sky Sports.

Cameron said she believed everything had gone well in her preparation and that she would not be denied victory. "When I'm like this, and I've put the work in and my mindset is where I want it to be, nobody's beating me," she told Sky Sports. She added that it would take "someone really good and special" to beat her and said she did not believe Mayer fell into that category.

Cameron is the only fighter to have defeated Katie Taylor. She described that victory as her highest career achievement, but said a win over Mayer would rank as her second. She acknowledged that the fight against Mayer would be difficult, describing it as a "tough, tough fight" but said she was confident in executing her gameplan.
