Alex G has shared a new song with Paul Buchanan of the Blue Nile, titled "Pain Is the Heart of Love," which serves as the first preview of the soundtrack to Jane Schoenbrun's upcoming film Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma. The full soundtrack arrives on August 21.

The collaboration marks Alex Giannascoli's third work scoring a Schoenbrun film, following 2022's We're All Going to the World's Fair and 2024's I Saw the TV Glow. Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma follows a young director who reboots a classic horror franchise and connects with the reclusive actress who played the series' final girl, with casting including Hannah Einbinder and Gillian Anderson.

The soundtrack also includes songs from R.E.M., Sally Shapiro, Donna Lewis, and Okay Kaya. Alex G recently co-produced Phoebe Bridgers' third album Lost Weekend and wrapped a North American tour. Buchanan, who released his solo album Mid Air in 2012, appeared on a Jessie Ware song in 2017 and a Quiet City track in 2021.
