Sutrimo's family officially reported the matter of his death to Polresta Banyumas on Saturday evening (8/8). The report was filed by Suting, Sutrimo's brother, along with his son Abhi, who holds power of attorney from Sutrimo's heirs.
The family stated that conflicting media reports about Sutrimo's death prompted them to clarify the true circumstances. A family spokesperson said there were allegations of irregularities in the reporting, although the family insisted there were no irregularities at the time. "The family is simply seeking legal certainty regarding the death of our brother Sutrimo," said Abhi.
The family also addressed allegations that they had not filed a report because they had received a large sum of money. The spokesperson said the family wanted to establish legal certainty and determine whether Sutrimo's death was natural or not. They stated they had not yet decided which party to report and were leaving that to police investigators.
Regarding the possibility of a second autopsy, the family said they would follow applicable legal procedures and cooperate fully. Suting said the family was actually "unwilling" to have the deceased's grave exhumed, but would comply if required by law. The family acknowledged receiving the deceased's identity card, documents, and compensation of Rp20 million.
Metro Jaya Police have questioned a number of witnesses to investigate Sutrimo's death. He was found dead in the grounds of Mordent Clinic on 23 July. Sutrimo was found unconscious and transported by ambulance to Muhammadiyah Taman Puring Hospital. The hospital said that Sutrimo arrived already deceased.
