Police in Mamuju District, West Sulawesi, have revealed that two of the 15 suspects in the rape of a 15-year-old girl are uncles of the victim. The Head of the Public Relations Division of Mamuju Police Resort, Ipda Herman Basir, confirmed this information on Saturday (8/8).
Of the 15 suspects, six are still under 18 years old and are currently undergoing investigation. Police are continuing to uncover the methods used by the perpetrators in committing these acts.
The case is suspected to have occurred since November 2025 and was committed repeatedly. The first incident occurred at the victim's grandmother's house, a shop-house in Mamuju, committed by four perpetrators who forced the victim to satisfy their sexual desires.
The victim continued to experience similar abuse until June 2026. Her family became suspicious of the victim's condition as she was believed to be pregnant, prompting them to report the case to police.
Police stated they secured the perpetrators from July through early August. All 15 suspects are currently undergoing investigation to uncover all aspects of the case.
