The Indonesian National Police emphasised that holders of the Pramuka Garuda certificate must still undergo selection tests to become members of the police force. Head of the Police's Public Relations Division Inspector General Johnny Eddizon Isir said that certificates and documents, including the Pramuka Garuda certificate, are supporting documents that can be attached but do not automatically result in applicants being accepted without going through the selection process.

The Corruption Eradication Commission seized a number of documents after searching 15 locations across four regions on 5-8 August in connection with a case of alleged extortion involving inactive Pemalang Regent Anom Widiyantoro. KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo said the seizure included documents related to projects being and to be carried out at the Public Works and Spatial Planning Office of Pemalang Regency.

Forestry Minister Raja Juli Antoni entrusted the investigation process into the cause of forest and land fires in the Mount Bromo area, East Java to law enforcement authorities. The Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park Management Unit recorded that the area affected by the fire reached 520 hectares, an increase from previous data of approximately 176 hectares.

The Navy, together with a joint task force, foiled an attempt to smuggle 1,298 kilograms of ketamine from the foreign vessel MV King Sun in waters north of Tanjung Berakit, Riau Islands. Commander of the Indonesian Fleet Command Rear Admiral Denih Hendrata said evidence was found in 65 sacks, with an estimated value of approximately Rp2.1 trillion.
