Indonesia's rice harvest area grows marginally to 9.46 million hectares

Indonesia estimates rice harvest area will reach 9.46 million hectares in January-September 2026, a slight increase from the same period the previous year.

Indonesia's rice harvest area is estimated to reach 9.46 million hectares in the period from January to September 2026. This figure represents an increase of 0.11 per cent compared with the same period in 2025, when harvest area was recorded at 9.45 million hectares.

Farmers are adopting modern agricultural technology to increase harvesting efficiency. In Sidoarjo, East Java, rice harvesting activity in the Jabon area uses combine harvester machines to speed up the harvest process in the local rice fields.
