Canada has deported 3,323 Indian nationals throughout the first semester of 2026, according to official data from Canada's Border Services Agency. This figure is projected to break the highest deportation record in the past six years.

The number of Indian citizens expelled in just the first six months of this year alone has reached nearly 88 per cent of the total 3,779 citizens deported throughout 2025. This surge has occurred alongside Canada's government taking firm steps to tighten its immigration system and reduce the number of temporary residents, including foreign workers and international students.

Meanwhile, the government of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is reportedly preparing for the possibility of conducting a unilateral strike on Iran if the war between the United States and Iran ends. According to the report, the Israeli military is also preparing for an attack amid US efforts to seek a "way out" to end the conflict with Iran.

Netanyahu views Iran, particularly its nuclear programme, as a major threat to Israel. The report emerged alongside US efforts to find a peace settlement with Tehran.
