Indonesia's women's football league will officially begin on October 17 after remaining inactive for seven years. I.League, the operator of Indonesia's football leagues, will organize the 2026/2027 Indonesia Women's League, led by CEO Teddy Tjahjono, a former senior official at Persib Bandung and PT Ligabola Indonesia.
The competition will use a triple round-robin format, with each team playing three matches during the league phase. The four highest-ranked teams will advance to the semifinals, with winners progressing to the final to determine the champion.
All matches will be held at GOR Soemantri Brodjonegoro in Jakarta as part of a centralized system. Organizers said that if women's matches are scheduled on the same day as men's matches, they may be held at the same location with different kickoff times.
Six clubs will participate: Persija Jakarta, Persita Tangerang, Dewa United, Garudayaksa, Persikad Depok, and Bekasi FC. Organizers said the Jakarta metropolitan area location simplifies operations during the league's early stages, though I.League said it remains open to clubs from other regions if the tournament's foundation becomes stronger.
CEO Tjahjono said organizers plan to offer free tickets to matches, though he noted that if tickets are eventually charged, prices would be significantly lower than the Super League 2026/2027.
