Prabowo administration rated "okay", Golkar shifts strategy to attract Gen Z

The Advisory Council of the Pancasila Ideology Development Agency assessed the Makkah Defence Pact between Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Pakistan as representing a new awareness of security in the region. According to Darmansjah Djumala, the Advisory Council's representative for Foreign Relations Strategy, the pact reflects an awareness that regional security should increasingly be determined by countries in the region itself.

Gerindra Party Spokesperson Sugiat Santoso stated that President Prabowo Subianto's assessment of his administration's two-year performance as "okay" was not a unilateral claim. The assessment was based on reflection of the government's hard work and aligned with public perception, with an Indonesia Political Opinion survey as of 8 August 2026 showing public satisfaction with the government at 63 per cent.

Fifth President Megawati Soekarnoputri and General Chair of the PDI Perjuangan Central Board attended the launch of Erros Djarot's autobiography volumes 2 and 3 at Jakarta Arts Building on Sunday. Megawati was accompanied by several figures and members of the Soekarno family, including PDI Perjuangan Central Board Chair Bintang Puspayoga.

The MV Cape San Juan, carrying major weapons system equipment for the Super Garuda Shield 2026 joint exercise, arrived at Panjang Port in Lampung. Equipment unloaded from the vessel will be distributed to Baturaja, South Sumatra, as one of the exercise locations.

Golkar Party is changing its cadre-building approach to reach Generation Z and millennials ahead of the 2029 election. Said Aldi Al Idrus, Chair of the Youth and Sports Division of the Golkar Party Central Board, said the approach to young people should be more flexible, communicative, and engagement-based, as well as adapting to digital developments.
