Paul Pogba is expected to leave Monaco as discussions over a possible early contract termination advance. A source told the BBC that talks are underway and are expected to be concluded soon.
Pogba joined the Ligue 1 club in June 2025 on a two-year deal after being cleared to return to professional football following a doping suspension. His first season was disrupted by injury, though there was hope he would feature regularly during the current campaign.
A managerial change at Monaco, with Filipe Luis replacing Sebastien Pocognoli, could alter the club's direction in central midfield. Monaco has not yet commented on the situation.
The France international and 2018 World Cup winner was provisionally suspended for four years after testing positive for dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA) in a doping test conducted in August 2023. Pogba maintained the result was a mistake and that he had unknowingly received a supplement containing a banned substance. The Court of Arbitration for Sport reduced his ban to 18 months, allowing his return to football in March 2025.
