Nintendo will officially launch the Switch and Switch 2 gaming consoles in Indonesia in December 2026, according to an announcement by Juro Takeuchi, Executive Office Nintendo, at the Nintendo Business Conference in Indonesia on Tuesday (11/8). The company said it wants to share the gaming experience through these handheld consoles with the Indonesian people.

"We announce that the launch of Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 has been confirmed in Indonesia with a schedule for December this year," Takeuchi said. Both consoles are designed with a new concept that allows users to play connected to a television or on the internal screen that can be enjoyed anytime and anywhere.

According to Takeuchi, Nintendo Switch is suitable for the Indonesian people because of local culture that values togetherness with family and friends. The consoles will be sold under the direction of Nintendo Singapore and PT Nusantara Interactive as Nintendo's official partner.

A number of game titles will be launched alongside the consoles, including Mario Kart World, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (Nintendo Switch 2 Edition), Nintendo Switch Sports Resorts, Pokemon Pokopia, and Pokemon Legends: Z-A (Nintendo Switch 2 Edition).

The Nintendo eShop is not planned to be available at the launch of both consoles in Indonesia. The company said it will announce information regarding this later.
