Data rollover packages have recently come into focus following a Constitutional Court decision requiring mobile operators to offer the option. Major carriers including Telkomsel, Indosat through its IM3 brand, and XL already provide packages with quota accumulation features.

Data rollover allows unused internet quota to be carried forward to the next billing period as long as customers meet the operator's conditions. The feature, however, is not available on all internet packages, and users must verify that their chosen plan supports quota accumulation.

Telkomsel offers the feature on its SIMPATI #TerbaikUntukmu Internet Package, where remaining primary quota can be used in the next period if customers renew the package while the previous active period is still running. The new package's active period then applies to the rolled-over quota. IM3 provides quota accumulation on its Freedom Combo package, with a 30-day active period and additional benefits including calls to other operators and unlimited calls to IM3 and Tri numbers.

XL provides rollover through its Xtra Combo Flex package, which has a 28-day active period and includes call quota to all operators plus data for YouTube and TikTok. Users must track each package's active period and terms to ensure remaining quota accumulates into the following billing cycle.
