Japan's effort to rapidly field interceptor drones represents a significant departure from its traditionally slow-moving defense procurement system as the country prepares for military operations increasingly characterized by inexpensive, disposable unmanned weapons.
Japan's Acquisition, Technology and Logistics Agency (ATLA) has awarded a contract to Tokyo-based Terra Drone Corp. to mass-produce its Terra B1 interceptor drone, according to officials.
