Java United FC has officially announced Fabio Lefundes as head coach for the 2026/2027 Super League season on Sunday (9/8). The former Borneo FC coach has signed a two-year contract with the club, which was known as Malut United last season.
The Semarang-based club was led by Hendri Susilo last season. The club, which calls itself Laskar Kepodang Emas, said it is confident of competing at the top of the Super League, matching their achievements from two seasons ago.
Lefundes said he is very happy to receive the management's trust to lead the new project. According to Lefundes, organising, building, and developing the process at a relatively new club in Indonesian Super League is a significant responsibility that motivates him.
Lefundes began his coaching career in Indonesia by taking charge of Madura United in the 2021/2022 season. After that, he served as assistant at Shandong Taishan FC in China, then coached Persita Tangerang in the 2024/2025 season, and coached Borneo FC in the 2025/2026 season.
Lefundes said that this journey will not be easy, but he will work tirelessly to build a competitive team with strong identity, courage, and ambition.
