President Prabowo Subianto summoned Pertamina Director General Simon A. Mantiri to his residence in Hambalang, West Java, on Sunday afternoon to discuss the progress of the national energy programme and efficiency of state-owned enterprises. The meeting, documented by Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya on Monday, covered reports and strategic direction on the company's operational steps.
Mantiri reported progress on implementation of the Mandatory B50 Programme (50 per cent Biodiesel), which Prabowo launched in July, as well as infrastructure readiness for the implementation of mandatory Bioethanol. Prabowo instructed a reduction in bureaucratic layers and subsidiary companies at Pertamina, PLN, and other state-owned enterprises as part of institutional restructuring efforts, according to Teddy's statement.
The restructuring aims to accelerate decision-making at management and operational levels while increasing productivity and budget efficiency. The government reaffirmed its commitment to promoting state-owned enterprise management that is more agile, transparent and competitive in order to support national economic resilience.
