Peru has sent 12 tons of humanitarian aid to Colombia using a military aircraft, with President Keiko Fujimori overseeing the supplies being prepared.

Peru sent 12 tons of aid to the earthquake site in Colombia on Tuesday (11/8). Peruvian President Keiko Fujimori inspected the aid supplies directly that will be sent using a military aircraft at Callao Airport.

Peru also prepared a trained rescue team that will depart on Wednesday (12/8) to assist search and rescue efforts in the disaster area.

The death toll from the earthquake continued to rise, reaching 254 people by Tuesday morning. The casualties included 101 people dead in Pereira and 95 people in Cali.
