PT Pertamina Patra Niaga organised the Bright Gas Cooking Competition (BGCC) 2026 at the regional level in Tegal with the theme "Heritage Flavours of the Archipelago from the Heart". The competition served as a platform for culinary enthusiasts to showcase their creativity in preparing Indonesian dishes while preserving the culinary wealth of the Nusantara.

Participation in the competition reached 860 participants, comprising 393 online participants and 467 offline participants. From the selection of hundreds of applicants, 40 finalists were chosen to compete in the semi-final. The finalists were challenged to present their own creations using squid and shrimp as secret ingredients.

After evaluation by a panel of judges consisting of Chef Joko Patriot and Chef Yuda Bustara, Devan Andhika Saputra was selected as Champion 1 of the Tegal BGCC Semi-Final. Feli Sitta Mayasari won Champion 2 and Bobby Utomo Putra won Champion 3. The winners each received cash prizes, a first-time Bright Gas 5.5 kg canister, and a set of premium cooking utensils.

The three winners will represent Tegal in the Grand Final of BGCC 2026 in Jakarta in November with the opportunity to compete for prizes worth hundreds of millions of rupiah, including a Culinary Art Course at Le Cordon Bleu, Thailand. Taufiq Kurniawan, Area Manager Communication, Relations, & CSR of PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Central Java Region, said the activity was the company's effort to bring the Bright Gas product closer to the community while encouraging the preservation of Indonesian culinary heritage.
