Jakarta (ANTARA) - Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung is applying a special transport fare of Rp1 for all transport services managed by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government on 17 August 2026 to commemorate the 81st anniversary of Indonesia's independence. Pramono described the policy as a special gift to the capital's residents on the independence commemoration.

"All transport on 17 August, which is managed by the DKI Jakarta Government, will cost only Rp1," said Pramono at Bundaran HI, Jakarta, on Sunday. The Rp1 fare applies to all transport owned by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government.

According to Pramono, the policy is intended to bring festivity to the commemoration of Indonesia's independence anniversary while providing easy access to public transport for residents in various activities on independence day. Pramono said Jakarta residents can use public transport services at very affordable rates on this historic occasion.

This step is in line with the DKI Jakarta Government's commitment to improving public transport services and ensuring residents can live comfortably and conveniently. DKI Jakarta Deputy Governor Rano Karno said development in Jakarta continues to prioritize the interests and welfare of its residents while preparing the city to face global challenges.
