Prime Line Distributors, Inc., based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and Ferrarini USA, Inc., based in Hoboken, New Jersey, are recalling approximately 1,513 pounds of imported ready-to-eat pork guanciale products due to possible Listeria contamination.

The recall affects imported guanciale that may have been distributed through retail and foodservice channels. Consumers who have purchased the affected products are advised not to consume them.

Listeria monocytogenes can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, the elderly, and people with weakened immune systems. The companies and health authorities are investigating the source of the contamination.
