Artificial intelligence (AI) has become part of the daily lives of millions of people, including children who are becoming familiar with this technology without fully realizing it. Roni Satria, a journalist and founder of YouAI, says that many features in social media used today integrate AI, meaning children are exposed to this technology even without full awareness.

"Therefore, consciously or not, children are already attached to AI," Roni said on CNN Indonesia's Edutalk podcast.

Child psychologist Sani Budiantini said that children's use of gadgets creates new challenges for parents. She explained that limiting the time children spend on digital devices often creates conflict in parent-child relationships, because Gen Alpha children have high curiosity that actually increases when they are forbidden to do something.

"Gen Alpha is characterised by high curiosity. The more we say they can't, the more they want to know," said Sani. The main challenge is how parents can guide children to use AI safely while preventing exposure to misinformation.

CNN Indonesia presented an in-depth discussion on this issue through the Edutalk podcast featuring Roni Satria and Sani Budiantini, moderated by CNN Indonesia journalist Nabilla Putri on Tuesday (11/8) at 19.00 WIB. The podcast can be watched on the CNN Indonesia website and app as well as on the CNN Indonesia YouTube channel.
