A total of 44 members of the Pasukan Pengibar Bendera Pusaka (Paskibraka), or Flag-Raising Team, from South Jakarta in 2026 have been prepared to carry out the task of hoisting the red and white flag at the ceremony commemorating the 81st anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia. The ceremony will be held on 17 August 2026.

South Jakarta Mayor Syafrin Liputo said all team members have met the requirements to perform the task. He expressed hope that they would carry out their duties well at the upcoming ceremony, according to his statement in the Antasari Room at the Mayor's Office in Jakarta on Wednesday.

Syafrin expressed appreciation to all Paskibraka members who had gone through a rigorous selection process and series of training. He urged the members to maintain consistency in their training materials and physical condition until the task is carried out, saying their current condition is in excellent form and needs to be maintained.

Syafrin hoped that Paskibraka members, after completing their task, would continue to uphold the leadership character that had been built during the coaching process. He hoped they could become role models for their peers at school and in their neighbourhoods, and be able to share knowledge and experience as a foundation for building resilient human resources in the future.

Head of the National Unity and Politics Agency (Kesbangpol) for South Jakarta Ragil Tugiman explained that the journey of the Paskibraka members began about two months ago, covering selection stages, centralised training, and a quarantine period before the flag-raising ceremony. South Jakarta also sent one female representative to the national level this year.
