PT Pertamina Patra Niaga reported a fire at Fuel Station TAC 34.161.13 Cilendek, Bogor City, West Java, on Sunday morning (9/8). The incident occurred around 06.50 WIB while a vehicle was refuelling Pertalite fuel, according to Acting Area Manager for Communications, Relations & CSR Regional JBB PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Arya Yusa Dwicandra.

According to initial information, sparks allegedly from the vehicle caused a fire that affected the refuelling area and two fuel pumps. The station team immediately handled the incident using seven portable fire extinguishers and two wheeled fire extinguishers, while fuel refuelling in the station area was temporarily halted.

The Bogor City Fire Department then arrived at the location to extinguish and further cool the flames. One vehicle caught fire in the incident, but based on initial information, there were no fatalities, said Arya.

The station area is currently undergoing post-incident cleaning, and Pertamina is still conducting an investigation to determine the cause and impact of the incident. Arya emphasised that safety and security are Pertamina Patra Niaga's top priorities, and evaluations and inspections will be carried out to ensure all Health, Safety, Security & Environment standards are applied consistently.

To ensure the public's fuel needs continue to be met, Pertamina has temporarily redirected services to nearby stations SPBU 33.16101 Semeru and SPBU 34.16115 Veteran. Arya also appreciated the support and handling from the Fire Department, Babinsa and Babinmas from Bogor City in securing and managing the incident.
