Medan Mayor Rico Tri Putra Waas officially inaugurated Erfin Fahrurrazi as Acting Regional Secretary of Medan City on Tuesday. During the inauguration ceremony, Rico gave direction to the new official to strengthen coordination and accelerate the performance of local government organisations in carrying out government tasks.
Rico emphasised that acceleration of government performance must remain measurable, clear, and in accordance with laws and regulations. According to Rico, this approach is necessary to maintain stability of government operations and realise public welfare.
Rico said the position of regional secretary is an important element in ensuring government performance runs well. He asked Erfin not only to receive reports from each local government organisation, but also to understand the problems they face so that the guidance given matches the situation on the ground.
Medan Mayor also asked Erfin to serve as a mentor and guide for all leaders of local government organisations. Rico recognised that each local government organisation has different characteristics, challenges, and working patterns, so supervision cannot be done with a uniform approach.
Erfin Fahrurrazi was appointed under Medan Mayor's Decision Number 800.1.3.3/1304.K dated 10 August. Previously, he served as Head of Medan City Inspectorate and replaced Wiriyah Alrahaman who had retired.
