Azizah MRDS, a pencak silat athlete from Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, has attracted the attention of social media users who say she bears a resemblance to Hollywood actress Zendaya. Comments comparing the two frequently appear in the comment sections of Azizah's posts, both on recent uploads and those shared approximately a month earlier.
Azizah herself has shown awareness of the comparison by reposting several posts about her resemblance to Zendaya, with a caption stating, "Wow, this is getting noisy. Let's just have fun with it." Social media users have written various comments, ranging from "Zendaya from Indonesia" to tagging Zendaya's Instagram account in hopes that the actress would see Azizah. Some users have even claimed that Azizah is Zendaya's sister.
Azizah's full name is Nurul Azizah Syafitri and she is from Mataram, Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara. Beyond being known for her facial resemblance, Azizah is recognised as a multi-talented figure who is active as both a pencak silat athlete and a dancer, with numerous achievements in both fields. Through social media, Azizah has revealed that she has pursued dance and silat since childhood without luxurious studio facilities or special connections. In an Instagram post on 16 May, she stated, "I'm a true child of Lombok. From childhood, I only knew two things: dance and silat."
Azizah won first place at the O2SN Middle School National Science Olympiad at the West Nusa Tenggara provincial level in pencak silat, an achievement that led her to compete at the international level, including the Hanoi International Martial Arts Festival 2026 in Vietnam on 7-9 August 2026 as part of the West Nusa Tenggara IPSI contingent. In dance, Azizah was the youngest participant in the World of Dance competition in Jakarta and placed seventh, and as part of the Miracle Dancers team, she won first place at WOD Region Indonesia in Bali in 2024. Azizah has also performed at the MotoGP Mandalika 2024 event and celebrations for the 80th anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia in 2025.
Azizah's resemblance to Zendaya gained further attention after she created a Spider-Man parody video performing the character's signature style with her own stunts and movements. The parody video further prompted social media users to highlight the facial similarity between Azizah and Zendaya.
