Israeli television channel Channel 13 reported that Tel Aviv continues to keep open the option of launching a strike on Iran without American involvement. The report was cited by Anadolu Agency on Sunday (9/8).

According to the report, the Israeli military is preparing a strike operation as Washington seeks an "exit" to end the war with Iran. These preparations are being made as the US seeks to prevent further escalation.

US Joint Chiefs of Staff General Dan Caine previously warned American officials about the ongoing consequences of the conflict with Iran. Caine stated that further escalation could create new risks and it would be difficult for the Donald Trump administration to achieve its objectives through airstrikes alone.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu regards Iran, particularly its nuclear programme, as a major threat to Israel. Netanyahu rejected a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed by Trump and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian in June, which included a cessation of hostilities across all fronts including US allies and attacks in Lebanon.

A mediator of the US-Israel conflict from Pakistan stated that the agreement included Israel as a US ally.
