Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty has warned that plans to relocate Palestinians from the Gaza Strip remain under consideration, and Cairo will oppose them with full force. Abdelatty described such a move as a "red line" for Arab and Muslim nations.
In an interview with Palestinian news agency Wafa, Abdelatty said that relocation cannot be considered voluntary if conditions are created that make life in Gaza impossible. Pushing residents to leave in such circumstances amounts to coercive action that violates international law and the rights of the population under occupation.
Abdelatty also expressed concern over rising violations against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank. He described the situation as silent annexation and de facto annexation that undermines prospects for an independent Palestinian state.
According to the Gaza Ministry of Health, over the past 48 hours, hospitals in Gaza have received the bodies of two Palestinians who died from wounds sustained in previous Israeli attacks, and six people were injured in new attacks. Since the ceasefire began last October, Israel has killed 1,257 people and wounded 4,131 in nearly daily attacks.
Overall, since the war began on 7 October 2023, Israeli attacks have killed 73,384 people and wounded 174,242 according to the ministry.
