An oral archive dedicated to Palestinian journalists killed in Gaza launched on August 12 as a memorial to members of the press. Developed by Writers Against the War on Gaza, "The Living Record" features eulogies and profiles of slain reporters, with initial pages dedicated to 24 journalists.

The archive includes a recorded eulogy by independent journalist Doaa Shaheen about her late colleague Anas al-Sharif, 28, a reporter for Al Jazeera who was killed on August 10 alongside four other journalists in what Shaheen described as a targeted Israeli strike on their media tent near al-Shifa Hospital. Shaheen's audio tribute recounted al-Sharif's commitment to documenting Palestinian events.

According to organizers, the number of Gaza press fatalities since October 2023 stands at around 240. The archive will continue to expand throughout the fall, with profiles and eulogies for another 21 journalists to be added, and officials said the project aims to recognize the endangered community of Palestinian reporters operating in the conflict zone.
