The World Forum For Art and Culture, founded by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, and Creativeland Studios have agreed to take "Krishnavataram," a trilogy about the life of Lord Krishna, to audiences outside India. The partnership was formalized on Janmashtami, the Hindu festival marking Krishna's birth.
"Krishnavataram" is planned as three parts subtitled "Hridayam" (The Heart), "Manaha" (The Mind) and "Atman" (The Soul). The first installment, directed by Hardik Gajjar, stars Siddharth Gupta as Krishna, alongside Sanskruti Jayana, Sushmita Bhatt and Nivaashiyni Krishnan. It has already been released in Indian theaters.
The organizations plan a wider theatrical release in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and English to reach the Indian diaspora and international viewers. Beyond film, they intend to expand into series, music, live experiences, games, education and cultural programming centered on the Krishna story.
Producer Sajan Raj Kurup of Creativeland Studios said the partnership aims to present Indian cultural beliefs globally while maintaining philosophical and artistic traditions. The international release of the first installment is intended as an initial step toward positioning "Krishnavataram" as what the partners describe as a global cultural movement.
