Pertamina Patra Niaga responded to the 7.7 magnitude earthquake that struck East Nusa Tenggara on Saturday morning by distributing humanitarian assistance and ensuring energy availability to support emergency response efforts. Kitty Andhora, VP Corporate Communication at Pertamina Patra Niaga, said the distribution of aid began the same day through the Pertamina Peduli programme.
As of the time of reporting, assistance had reached approximately 422 beneficiaries. The packages distributed included more than 250 ready-to-eat meal packages, 100 boxes of mineral water, 20 boxes of biscuits, 15 boxes of bread, and 20 boxes of UHT milk. In addition to food, the company also provided health and hygiene supplies such as paracetamol, antidiarrhoeal medicine, vitamins, eucalyptus oil, nappies, sanitary pads, bath soap, and wet wipes.
Emergency infrastructure support was also provided, including three portable toilet units and one 3,000 watt generator to meet the basic needs of affected communities. Andhora explained that the company's focus was to ensure the assistance met real needs on the ground, not just the volume of aid.
Fuel Terminal Reo, part of Pertamina's operations, also distributed food aid to affected communities in its surrounding area. Pertamina Patra Niaga is committed to continuing coordination with various parties during the post-disaster response period.
