Travis Kelce said his July 3 wedding to Taylor Swift at Madison Square Garden fulfilled a childhood dream. Speaking at a Kansas City Chiefs training camp press conference, Kelce described the venue as the "mecca of all sports venues" and said he had long wanted to attend an event there.
"I always told myself that I'd go for a playoff game when the Knicks were rocking," Kelce said. "It's kind of cool to be able to live out my childhood dream of being in that venue, being able to get married there." He expressed gratitude to the MSG owners for facilitating a private event at the iconic New York City venue.
Kelce described the wedding as "the best night of my life" and thanked attendees for celebrating with him and Swift. He also noted that the venue's air conditioning was exceptional, given that the wedding took place during a heat wave in New York.
The couple announced their engagement last August on Instagram with a photo of Kelce proposing in a rose garden. New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani said Swift paid the city $160,000 for a police permit for the July 3 event. Swift and Kelce made $26 million in charitable donations to more than a dozen organizations. Attendees included Jack Antonoff, Bradley Cooper, Selena Gomez, Ed Sheeran and Jessica Chastain. Adam Sandler officiated the ceremony, with Austin Swift serving as Taylor Swift's man of honor and Jason Kelce as Travis Kelce's best man.
Swift wore a custom haute couture gown by Jonathan Anderson of Christian Dior, while Kelce also wore a Dior look by Anderson. The couple has not publicly shared photos from the wedding.
